There are two characters in this sculpture. One is tangled up inside of a wild snake-like plant. His feet had grown deep inside of the soil and his body is simultaneously being devoured by the plant and transforming into the plant. The other one had fallen onto the ground, maybe wounded or is being sucked deep into the ground. Maybe it is quicksand that he is lying on. They are reaching towards each other, with so much desire that their arms are stretched long and thin. It is not enough for them to be touching each other’s face, however, they will forever be reaching towards that direction. Then maybe eventually, their arms will become entangled and start to merge. Their bodies will become one. They will become one. There is also a surrealist twist to the reading of this sculpture: from certain angles when it is perceived as a whole object, it resembles a deer skull with decorative eyes and protruding teeth in front.
