VISUAL ESSAYS

These are a group of visual essays on the issues and theories of gender, desire and perception. I aimed to explore how our physical bodies are portrayed and perceived within social spaces through an intimate angle including personal histories and experiences. They also serve as critics on the issue of the rigidity and inefficiency of constructing standard academic essays with the use of a collage of visual elements and free-formed languages to create a disruptive reading experience, thus altering the power dynamics between the essay and the reader, as well as between the essay and the institution.
